How to get to Trpanj

Trpanj can be reached by sea and by land. Due to the construction of modern highways in Croatia last years, a time of journey for tourists is significantly shortened even to the far south of Croatia.

BY A PLANE
Dubrovnik Airport (Čilipi): 127 Km from Trpanj (2 hours and 15 minutes by car)
Airport Split (Kaštela): 130 km to Ploče (2 hours and 22 minutes by car) + 60 minutes voyage by ferry (Trpanj-Ploče), or journy Ploče-Trpanj 108 km (1 hour and 45 minutes by car).
During the season, the regular and charter flights from all major cities are available. From Zagreb flights are realized several times a day and lasts less than an hour.

BY RAIL OR BUS
The nearest railway station is located in Ploče. It is connected by regular routes from Zagreb, Sarajevo and Metković.
Bus terminal in Ploče is very well connected with cities within the Croatia, and of the foreign lines, the best is connection with Bosnia and Herzegovina (daily route to the cities of Mostar and Sarajevo) and Montenegro.
The ferry dock in Ploče is only 200 meters away from bus and railway stations. The transport by bus and rail can be very good managed together with the ferry routes to Trpanj. Hotel Faraon is only 150 meters away from the ferry dock in Trpanj.

BY A CAR
If you are coming from Zagreb, the fastest way to Trpanj destination is first to reach the motorway A1. Exit at the node Ravča and continue to drive over Vrgorac to Ploče. From Ploče to Trpanj you can take the ferry (find more information in the section: Arrival by ferry), or you can continue your ride to the Adriatic highway (E65) to Ston (Dubrovnik direction). You will pass through Neum (Bosnia and Herzegovina) where  Croatian citizens can pass only with their identity cards, while a passport is required for the foreign citizens. Turn for Ston and continue to Pelješac road 414 to Trpanj. Distance from Ploče and Trpanj is about 120 km, or about an hour and a half away by car.

Arriving by car from Dubrovnik (total 120 km), road E65 to Ston, and road 414 to Trpanj.

Visitors from countries in Eastern Europe can travel through Bosnia and Herzegovina. Although this route is more economical, the ride is difficult because of bad roads.

BY FERRY FROM PLOČE
Jadrolinija company ferry travels several times a day from the ferry port in Ploče. During the summer the number of lines is usually increased to 7 lines. The voyage takes about 60 minutes, and ferries are furnished, air conditioned and have bar. The existing ferry can carry about 30 cars, so to all travelers in high season, we advise appearance to the port two or three hours before departure and to take place in line for boarding.
